by the end of 2017, China had opened and operated 20 tram lines in 14 cities, including Dalian, Tianjin, Shanghai, Shenyang, Changchun, Suzhou, Nanjing, Guangzhou, Huai'an, Qingdao, Zhuhai, Wuhan, Shenzhen and Beijing, with an operating mileage of 232.7 kilometers and 340 stations. Among them, five new trial operation lines were opened in 2017, with an operation mileage of 55.23 kilometers and a growth rate of 31%. as of the end of 2017, 22 cities in China have been intensively engaged in the construction of trams, with a total of 38 lines and a total mileage of 585.56 kilometers (see Figure 1 for details). Including Beijing (2), Shanghai (2), Shenyang (2), Foshan (2), Suzhou (3), Wuhan (2), Chengdu (4), Sanya (1), Tianshui (1), Qiannan prefecture (1), Delingha (1), Luzhou (1), Mengzi (4), Maitreya (1), Nanping (1), Taizhou (2), Dongguan (1), Anshun (2), Ruili (2), Wenshan (1) Guangzhou (1), Changzhou (1). It can be seen that the scale of tram lines under construction is growing rapidly, indicating that China's tram is gradually changing from demonstration line construction to networking construction. According to incomplete statistics, a total of 91 cities have proposed the intention of building modern tram lines or planning modern tram lines. There are about 565 lines, with a planned mileage of 10378 kilometers, and the development momentum is rapid. The planning scale is large, and it can also be used as the backbone public transportation mode of small and medium-sized cities, which makes the necking phenomenon of small and medium-sized cities appear one by one, and has become a new force in the construction of tram.
